Which AI receptionist fits your practice?
Eight questions. The result is a shortlist of three services from the 39 in our registry, with the score, the breakdown and the vendor's own words behind each point. No email needed to see it.
How the score works
Each vendor starts from its rubric total (12 points at most: HIPAA stated 1 or verified 2, BAA 2, 24/7 coverage 1, books appointments 2, named EHR integrations 1 or 2, published pricing 1, healthcare focus 1, more than English 1). Your answers then adjust it:
- +3 when the vendor names your EHR in writing.
- +2 when the vendor matches your AI or live-agent preference (+1 for a hybrid when you chose one or the other; any known type gets +2 for “either”).
- +2 for a healthcare-only vendor when you are a medical, dental, med spa or mental health practice. For a veterinary practice or a business outside medicine, a healthcare-only vendor loses 5 unless its own site names veterinary practices, and MedReception AI is left off the list with the reason shown.
- +1 for 24/7 coverage when you need after-hours answering.
- +1 for more than English when your callers need it.
- Minus 3 when the vendor's published starting price is above your budget band.
- A vendor that states it cannot handle PHI is left off the list for any medical practice, with its own statement shown.
Ties break by BAA, then published pricing, then the number of named EHR integrations, then name. Location count and call volume do not change the score; they pick which rankings and calculator link you see. Registry as of 2026-11-05.
